About Rachel

Hello! I’m an artist and illustrator from Junction City, Oregon. 

I have always loved the process of creating characters, telling stories, and inviting others into my colorful imaginary worlds. 

Seeing things around me from the perspective of my young kids has always been inspiring to me. I find myself eager to capture the simple pleasures of play and the pure excitement of exploration that I see every day.

Bringing a smile or a fond memory to someone through my paintings is a great joy. When my visual stories inspire people to share their own stories, we connect in a unique way.  I just love that. I look forward to many more stories to come!

About my process:

I paint my illustrations digitally using an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil in a painting program called Procreate. I am often found painting with a sleeping baby in my lap while propping up my iPad on one knee. Some of my favorite paintings sessions have been baby snuggling ones. ^_^

Painting digitally has given me the freedom and flexibility to paint in whatever moments I can grab between the busy hustle and bustle of being a stay at home mom with five kids. It's quite the juggle sometimes, but I love how being a wife and mom and artist all blends together. On any given day, one of my kids will come up to watch me paint and recognize little details of who they are in the paintings.
